Walking the Talk - My July Reflection

Woman contemplating nature

I don’t know about you, but June and July have both been intense!  I’ve found myself feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, fearful, and unsure.

Even when I understand where these waves of discomfort are coming from, that understanding doesn’t always make them easier to face. I still have to move through them, receive what they are here to teach me, and allow those lessons to become part of me. And maybe that is the lesson, isn’t it?

Work has been especially intense. Stepping into a new role—or, more honestly, volunteering to take on a new responsibility—has brought me into the foreground in a way I hadn’t fully expected. It has placed a clear, almost laser-like focus on my role, my intentions, and what I am here to accomplish. Having so many different personalities around me, each with their own agendas and levels of awareness, has felt both daunting and intimidating.

Why has it felt that way? The honest answer is that I haven’t fully trusted myself. I have allowed myself to be swayed by others instead of staying grounded in who I truly am. When I don’t tend to that inner grounding, I can feel myself becoming unsettled, carried along by the shifting currents of other people’s opinions.

Still, I recognize this experience for what it is: both a lesson and an opportunity. It is a chance to grow, to expand my consciousness, and to thank the Universe for bringing this circumstance into my life. It is also an invitation to release my attachment to the outcome, trust my own voice, and speak with the intention of serving the highest good, with love.

That can be challenging when I am still learning how to integrate what I know. But everything I have learned is now asking to be lived through my actions, my choices, and even my pauses. This is where I am called to walk the talk, to embody what I have learned, and to transmute learning into wisdom.

So, as July retreats, I invite you to reflect: what has this month asked you to release? What has it called you to embody? And where are you being asked to trust your own voice, even when the currents around you feel strong?
